Customer A: Used an alternative lift to migrate servers

A national organization purchased a ServerLift after their data center experienced a serious server migration related accident resulting from the use of a different solution. The alternative lift did not have the necessary features and functions to address safe handle of servers. For example, the existing solution lacked the ability to provide a safe transition from the lift to the rack. A $10,000 server was dropped onto an installer's foot causing bone damage, server damages, and data loss.

Repercussions of this common incident included the need for server replacement and setup, the cost of workers compensation claim, down time, insurance suit, and so forth. Estimated cost of using alternative solution exceeded $100,000.

Customer B: Installing Servers Manually

Data center technicians were instructed to install servers by hand. Attempting to lift a 60LB server over their head, a technician experienced an extensive back injury necessitating his placement in the Intensive Care Unit at the local hospital. Although the server was not damaged in this case, the employee experienced a significant injury to his upper spine.

This accident caused the company to settle a hefty law suit, and was required to implement a safer method of migrating servers — ServerLift was selected as the improved solution.

Estimated cost of the incident in this case was in excess of $1 million. Repercussions to the technician include reoccurring and permanent spinal damages, personal and family distress, over one year of workers compensation, and several years of rehabilitation and occupational therapy.

Customer C: Employees Complaining of Pain

This is a common complaint related to personal injury. After years of lifting servers by hand the company decided to go ahead and purchase a ServerLift because employees brought to management their suggestion that handling servers was becoming a tremendous physical burden. In addition, delays and system downtime for repairing, replacing, and implementing servers were becoming evident.

Luckily, the firm identified the serious issues before experiencing a major repercussion. This data center now has satisfied its need to safely and effectively migrate servers and is pleased to carry on business knowing that systems are safe and easily movable.

Customer D: Internal Safety Audit

Based in California, this global company desperately needed a solution to safely migrate servers. Audits by the firms safety personnel recommended a safer server migration solution. A ServerLift was selected after receiving approvals to invest in more ergonomic solutions.

This corporation was pleased to see inspection ratings improve drastically. The results of safety audits and ordering of a ServerLift has resulted in an ergonomic solution. Being that the customer is a trendsetter within its industry with regards to safety and ergonomics, other clients have purchased the ServerLift.

Customer E: Unrecoverable Data Loss

Prior to scheduled overnight backup procedures, this corporation wanted to simply move a vital operations server to another rack located only a few steps away. Using an alternative lift, the server was dropped during the transition to the rack. This jolt caused the hard drive to fail and become inoperable. The data in the server was unrecoverable. This loss of critical data required that specialists worked around the clock until corporate operations were able to function properly again.

In the past, this and similar situations were experienced by the company. The ServerLift has proven to be an invaluable tool in preventing serious data and system losses due to inappropriate migration activities.

Customer F: Migration to New Data Center

With the impending completion of a new data center, a savvy data center manager decided to invest in a ServerLift. Realizing that literally hundreds of servers had to be installed in the new facility, she decided that saving time and implementing a cost effective solution would help her achieve the objectives of the installational requirements.

The server migration time was decreased by approximately 50%. Furthermore, the ServerLift has been able to remain an important part of the data centers infrastructure by continuing to safely and effectively migrate servers on a day-to-day basis.
